Skills Obtained through Library and Research
Through out this semester the course LIBR1101 has helped me with my research tasks ever than before. I have rarley did research papers since my freshman year only in English class and I don't remember ever seeing a higher grade than a C. I have learned how to broaden my topic and see that I can elborate more effectivley on it. I'm taking English 1102 now and I have turned in my first essay, I was very impressed with my work on the rough draft. I have improved so much from my freshman year on grammer, writing, ideas, and thesis. Also, from taking this class I have learned to better my citing ability and finding the publisher, I have always had an issue with looking for the essentials in a citation. I have found it very helpful with database sites. The database sites have helped my skill of looking up resources without taking up too much time. This class has helped my group ability skills, I have never worked in groups as effectivley as now. In our group we are all working to create a research paper, which is more than just an assignment. We have to put into a paper our own ideas so we need to work together on even our english skills to make a great grade on the assignment.

I definitely agree that Library 1101 has increased my research skills. Citing is a huge aspect of the class and has helped me tremendously. When I was thinking about this class and what I have gained from it so far, the ability to work in a group work never crossed my mind. But after reading your post I realize that I have also learned to do group work more efficiently.
ReplyDeleteI agree too that this library class has helped with my research skills. Mrs. Pashia teaching us about citations was helpful for me too and i already knew a little bit about citations from my past English classes but she definitely helped reassure i was doing it right!
