Book:Could be secondary or primary source. In a book the information you find would be very helpful. An actual story behind the information, or research for a similar topic. A book is a great resource in a research because there is a reliable author. You could use to a book to show similar reserach another author did for a project.
Blog Post:Tertiary source. I don't feel as if a blog post is as effecient as a book. A blog post is more of one's opinion on a topic, and how they feel about it. It could be helpful if your clueless to the steps to find scholarly information. A blog post could be used in research for a example, but you wouldn't be as sure if the information was realiable.
Scholarly Journal Article: Primary source. A scholarly journal is very useful because it has professor's own research and reliable sources. It's named scholarly for a reason, it's great information to use on research project. The author of the journal worked very hard to find all the information he/she did.
Wikipedia: The source is not reliable, because one can go to the website and alter the information if they please. One could possibly think they have the right information on the topic but could be completley wrong. Wikipedia is not a good source to use on research because your paper would not be correct.
Podcast: Is information from one's audio voice or video telling about a source. The information can be useful for research. It's reliable.

The Steps I used to search the article!
First step I took, was to look at the Galileo library database!
Second step was to search the title, Gray, K. Medical students' use of Facebook to support learning: Insights from four case studies.
The last step was reading the article.

Annotated Bibliography
An annotated Bibliography
is a list of books with useful information, such as in books and articles.
There is 3 major parts to make up an annotated bibliography. First,
is the citation of your source Second, the summary gives the reader an inside
look into your notes. Third, is the actual notes that will be helpful in
your research, the annotation. The annotation is where the
information unfolds and enhances your research. The reason why you
would like us to write an annotated bibliography is to enhance our
research and to make actual time for the topic. Starting early gets you on
the right track and you will have enough time to fix your mistakes if
there is any. When preparing yourself for your research paper, the annotated bibliography comes in handy when coming up with your thesis! I like to think of the annotated bibliography like the spider webs we made back in high school. They were very helpful when coming up with ideas and points for my paper.

Plagiarism, pparaphrasing correctly, copyright, open content, open access, and creative commons all share a similarity when it comes to library research. In the Library when you are looking up source to use on research, you should know the difference between copyright and plagiarism. If you don't know the difference you could be facing a lot of trouble you didn't mean to get into. Learning how to paraphrase correctly is a must! When writing a research paper, you can not just copy someone else's work online or your professor could give you a zero for your paper, you can be expelled or even worse have a law suit filed against you. There is somewhat of a difference between open content, open access and creative commons. Open access is completely open to users online, you can use their information without having to worry about citing them or asking for permission because the information is wide open.Open content is when authors license their work and give up some control to the viewers. Creative common is used but the creators can licences their work but must ask for attribution. This knowledge comes in handy with other classes such as English when writing a paper. You wouldn't want to fail your paper because you decided to plagiarise your work.

10-17 homework
Elsevier is an academic scholarly publisher which is having issues trying to seek easier way to access scholarly journals. The librarian's that were interviewed stated that hard copy could become unreasonably pricey, but through the internet it's easier to access and also at a lower cost. Mathematic professors have started a boycott trying to grant tax payers free access to scholarly journals. The author's of the articles are wanting to grant free access to their information but are afraid of not being credited for their work. The boycott will rebel against well-known journal companies and try to alter the high subscription fees.
The New England Journal is an journal of past and present regarding medical practices. This scholarly article is known to be the most accurate for finding research and medical information. The journal has become free to tax payers after 6 months that the article is released, hoping to bring in more interested public since the article is free and reliable.

The change of knowledge of the internet age, regards how knowledge has evolved from paper, to books and now to the internet. A professor named David Weinberge located at Harvard University states that knowledge has become more broad ever since the internet was invented. The internet opens doors to anything the public would like to know. The internet will keep broadening the knowledge of the public as long as it is up and running.
The common theme between all three is the access to information from the internet and how the information brings knowledge to the public. My reactions are grateful because while I am studying as a student I will use scholarly journals for research that I am assigned. These stories are helpful because they have informed me that scholarly information is free to students while they are studying for their major. They affect me as I'm trying to succeed in college with the most accurate information their is possible on the internet.

Plagiarism & Copyright.
In my own words, I believe plagiarism is deliberately copying someone else's credit in papers, journals and books. Your taking credit for someone else's thoughts and ideas, which can lead you into a lot of trouble. If your going to use someone else's idea, you need to cite them adequately. The difference in copyright from plagiarism is, copyright is using someone's creative work such as music video's, songs, photography without authorization from the author. The similarity for both is punishment for committing both crimes. A law suit could be filed, one can be sued, a student can be expelled from school/university, also you can face court for your wrong doings. An example of plagiarism that isn't copyright would be not citing the author in your work, through copy wright you are asking the original owner for permission, not giving him credit. An example of copyright and not plagiarism is a tribute and also buying the rights but placing your name on it. To avoid being in trouble for plagiarism be smart and don't copy and past your work, your just asking for trouble that way. I have learned enough from high school that it's illegal to plagiarise other people's papers now.

How to jump into a conversation!
An example of this scenario would be two of my friends talking about my favorite artist, The Beatles. Now, whenever I hear The Beatles music or someone is talking about them I can jump into any conversation knowing exactly what Im talking about. When I jump into the conversation at first I would say "excuse me" so I wouldnt sound like im trying to intterupt. If they let me have permisson to speak then I would go off of that and speak my mind. In the change of senario, if some random person walked up to me and interupted my conversatio, they better have a good reason. I would look at them like they were dumb and rude for interupting me. If they asked politley to interupt the conversation I would give them permisson. If they had no idea what we were talking about but was trying to understand our conversation, I would give them the benefit of the doubt until they pissed me off. If anyone is going to include themself into a conversation I hope they think twice about it. If you don't know the topic then why add your nonsense? I've always disliked people who come into a conversation late and ask too many questions, that is one way to set me off.

Basic Idea of Fliter Bubbles
Filter bubbles do apply to research databases. When you search with key words the database becomes a fliter bubble for your information. It looks up specific subjects and gets down to the point where you want to know why your searching in this topic. In my reserach I look up a data base named PsychINFO, which lead me to the psychological meaning behind criminal minds. This database helped my topic make more sense, because im writing on what makes the criminal mind kill. Also, another database I researched is Criminal Justice Periodical Index, which looks more to the investigation of a serial killer. The database showed subjects for law enforcement and how they take out a criminal. It also showed results about why the serial killer did what he/she done, and their purpose behind the murder. The difference between the two databases is the topics. One database leaned toward psychological reasonings and the other leaned towards how criminal justice system took out the killer at the time. I honestly think PsychINFO helped my out the most, it pertains more to what I want to write on other than just the criminal justice system. The databases helped my research a little more and will become very helpful on tonights homework.

Reflecting on my research question.
I have enjoyed searching for my topic on how criminal minds work. I decided that my research question before was too vague. Even though I have searched on my topic, I haven't search enough. After checking out the book on criminal minds, I scammed through and jotted down some notes. I know that I need to work on searching more for my topic, and making examples of criminal minds to satisfy my audience. I know the book will help my knowledge when I decide to read more into it. After using the Galileo research database I have found more information on criminal minds. The information has scholarly sources and professional journals. I plan to research more on my topic when I get the chance but overall I am satisfied with my topic and my group members!
